I believe that women should be treated differently then men in certain issues like the draft because unlike men, women are needed to produce new life. In sexual assault and rape case women should always be treated differently then men. Because men 9 times out of 10 are stronger then women and can defend themselves better then women can. Women also should have the free choice to deiced what they want to do with their bodies in regards to medical and abortion rights. Since the beginning of the formation of the United States women in general have always been treated differently by men. Up until the 1920’s women really had no say in anything the only thing women were accepted to do was to become mothers, look after the children and their husbands. But on August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was finally ratified, enfranchising all American women and declaring for the first time that they, like men, deserve all the rights and responsibilities of citizenship (The Fight for Women’s Suffrage, 1,2009). On its surface the new amendment seemed to give the women the same rights as men but as the decades pass it was clear that women were still not granted the same rights as men. It was not until the 1960s that women actually push for equal rights just like their counter parts.
